Introduction

Welcome to Mealightenment.  This is not only another foodie-type blog, this is also a social project.  There are oh so many great places to go and so many websites that are devoted to just eating out and reviewing the experience.  At this site, the plan is to try and keep it interesting and remain as interactive as possible with the readers.


On an "assignment" using only the monocle function on Yelp and armed only with $15 bucks, we'll find dive bars, back alley restaurants, and mom and pop style Dine-In's. My goal: perhaps to show you the city you never knew was there, all while remaining within budget and trying to stay away from many big chain restaurants. I am also going to give out some of my personal recipes that any joe schmoe can make with a little finesse.
