Papa Roux Part 1

Everyone I know has a top three as far as restaurants go. Those places that either have the best food in the city, the best atmosphere or offers you a unique experience you can't get anywhere else... and for some reason, it feels special to you every time you go. Maybe it reminds you of the TV Show Cheers, "where everybody there knows your name." Maybe the food makes your mouth explode with flavor! Maybe every time you have been there, it has been the best social experience ever. In my opinion, Papa Roux has hit home on every one of those aspects for me! I have been going to Papa Roux for about a year and a half, and I have introduced at least 30 people to this glorious food pit stop.

Mississippi Belle - All You Can Eat Soul Food...is That Even Possible?

This restaurant find is compliments to my number one food partner in crime, Greg. He came to my house one day and said he had heard of a place that was a must write about establishment for us here at Mealightenment.  So instantly, my curious nature was slammed right next to the growling in my stomach. I asked what kind of place is this? He said, "All you can eat soul food that is fresh cooked and brought to your table!" After that sentence, I was sold, and we immediately headed to East 54th St. and Keystone to try out Mississippi Belle.

Getting to Know @Mealightenment [Week 2] Spotlight

Jacob came into the blog in a rather unorthodox fashion.  Jacob and I (Justin) not only do the blog together, but we also work our regular jobs together.  I hadn't really know anything of Jacob before the blog, other than he was just a funny guy that worked at the same place as me.  When the blog started to gain traction in early summer of 2012, and I told Jacob about it.  It was the first time I'd seen his interest in food.  From there on out, until I decided he might be a good addition to our blog, he and I talked food literally everyday.
